Learner Notebook

AI student: Your notes, plus an assistant that reads only them.

Each module has a notebook: a per-learner scratchpad with autosave, highlight-to-notebook capture, and an assistant grounded in your own notes rather than the course at large.

What it is

Write freely per module — the notebook autosaves as you type. Highlights from lessons can be captured into it in one click, so quotes and your commentary stay together.

Ask-my-notes answers questions from your notebook’s content specifically — useful when you know you wrote something down but not where. It can also draft flashcards from your notes for quick self-testing.

Why — the pedagogical rationale

Note-taking is encoding: the act of restating material in your own words is itself study. Keeping notes module-scoped keeps them answerable to the material you were just working through.

An assistant grounded in YOUR notes models a good study partner — it works with what you found important, not what an algorithm ranks. And flashcards turn those notes into retrieval practice, the same engine the quizzes use.

How we achieve it

Notebooks are saved as plain text per module with autosave; ask-my-notes runs retrieval over your note text (with the same quota governance as every AI call). Flashcard generation is explicit and on demand — the assistant never rewrites your notes, it only reads them.

Where to find it

The notebook opens from any module page; highlights inside lessons offer "capture to notebook". Search your notes anywhere via Learning memory on /twin.

The ask section is a toggle: the panel header’s Ask AI button hides the assistant when you only want to write, and brings it back the same way.
